Job Title: Payroll Officer

This well-renowned company based in Brisbane is seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join their team and contribute to the seamless processing of payroll for our employees.

Position Overview:

Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Officer to oversee all aspects of payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. They will be responsible for accurately calculating employee wages, managing benefits administration, and ensuring timely payment of taxes and other deductions.

Responsibilities:

- Process payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner, high volume 1000+.

- Calculate wages, salaries, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.

- Maintain accurate records of employee hours worked, salaries, taxes, and benefits.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws, regulations, and company policies.

- Manage employee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions or contributions.

- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payroll.

- Prepare payroll reports for management, accounting, or regulatory purposes.

- Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and tax laws.

- Communicate effectively with HR, finance, and other departments as needed.

- Provide support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries and issues.

- Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll.

Qualifications:

- Proven 2+ years experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role.

- Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, especially Excel.

- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail, large ERP system experience preferred.

- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
